Cadillac continues its quest to ten years to build and sell cars that will be considered equivalent to the best of German premium brands.
To this end, it will introduce a new and larger rear-wheel drive sedan next year be called CT6.
Now the company has confirmed that the CT6 range will include a hybrid plug-in, completing what is assumed to be V-6 and V-8 gasoline variants.

The plug-in hybrid was confirmed CT6 The Detroit News and other outlets Wednesday by Mark Reuss, executive vice president of GM global product development, analysts and investors in the global business conference the company.
It will be built at the same plant in Detroit-Hamtramck where the Chevrolet Volt and Cadillac ELR electric cars are now assembled greater autonomy.

GM CEO Dan Akerson then viewed a Cadillac plug-in hybrid model, more or less, in comments last year.

Akerson said while GM would eventually compete with Tesla Motors, the GM model electric luxury sedan made to set up a special unit to investigate the competitiveness of the automaker startup in Silicon Valley.
But Akerson still not convinced, he said, that pure battery electric vehicles were a panacea that I think the American public wants.
The plug-in hybrid Cadillac CT6 will compete with the Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid, now on sale, and the new 2016 Mercedes-Benz S550 Plug-In Hybrid that comes is on sale in Germany.
This plug-in S-Class reaches the U S market next spring.

Audi and BMW will also introduce various plug-in hybrids, although BMW's first is likely to be a version of its X5 crossover utility rather than a luxury sedan.
What remains unclear is the source of the hybrid system to be used by GM, which would have ended the development of its complex, expensive two-mode hybrid system there is more than one year.
Whether it is a derivation of the electric drive system Voltec extended range used in the Volt and ELR, or an entirely new system developed internally or purchased from another manufacturer existing system still does not know.
